Smart Trailer USA™ Specifications

 The Smart Trailer USA has aluminum decks and aluminum ramps.  The trailer weighs about 600 lbs. and offers greatly reduced maintenance by eliminating any need for painting rust spots on the steel ramps or decks due to wear and tear.  And besides, it just looks great!

The trailer itself is made of steel, but with aluminum enhancements.  Included components are:

 Dual diamond plate aluminum wheel decks with all-round 2-inch steel outer safety guide plates  

 Dual diamond plate aluminum locking ramps

 3500 pound capacity axle and suspension

 10 foot bed with 4 foot tongue for a 14 foot overall length.  The tongue height is 18" from the ground to the top of the 2-inch ball coupler

 Weight is 600 pounds

 2-wheel electric brakes (requires on-vehicle brake controller from your RV dealer).

 Breakaway switch for activation of electric brakes and brake lights

 Loading ramps are stowed inside the trailer and pull out easily. (They can be removed for maintenance). Simply remove the lockpin and, standing a couple of feet behind the trailer, pull the ramps out. This keeps the load you have to lift to just a few pounds.

 Optional Epoxy Primer and Automotive Paint - $200

For added rust prevention, in Red, Blue or Black, choose our heavy duty epoxy primer and automotive paint.  Keep your trailer sparkling longer.

 Optional Spare Tire mounted on tongue, hydraulic jack included - $175  (Passenger side mount at same price)

 Optional Front Jack Wheel and Plate (both) - $25  

 Optional Accent Package

The Accent Package is both an eye catcher and quite practical.

The Hill's, owners of Smart Sales, LLC, recently completed a 7,200 mile trip with their own Smart Trailer USA.  The only damage to the trailer was due to rocks thrown out by adjacent traffic that dinged the paint on the front of the fenders, the driver's side getting the most, of course.  Their was no damage to their smart fortwo due to the rock guards inside the fenders and mud flaps on the motorhome.

The Accent Package is now available to protect against such damage using added sections of diamond plate aluminum.  The front of the fenders are protected by such plate, as well as a step on top of the fender.  Finally, the safety step behind the fender is aluminum diamond plate as well.

 Optional Rear Jack Stands - $100

This jack is for use when you have your smart on the trailer and wish to unhook the trailer from the RV. 

 Optional Hydraulic Surge Activated Brakes instead of electric brakes.  No controller needed - $350

 Optional Aluminum Toolbox mounted on tongue - $240

   

The spare tire (if purchased) is mounted on the right side of the trailer.

Optional Kayak - Canoe - Surfboard Rack - $445

Yes, take other toys with you!  This rack mounts about a foot above the smart, or other small car, so you just load your gear, tie it down and then drive right under it to load your smart.  Cool.

Optional Dual Motorcycle Tiedowns - $200

Your bikes can go along when you leave the car at home.  Remember, too, that the total weight of your bikes should not exceed 1,000 lbs.  The load limit on the trailer axle is 3,500 lbs.

NOTE:  This option applies ONLY if you want to load TWO smaller bikes at all times.  Otherwise, the trailer will be dangerously out of balance on the road. 

Optional Single Motorcycle Tiedowns - $400

If you only have one bike, you can also put it on the Smart Trailer USA, but loaded in the center.  To do that, we add a center deck an additional an additional ramp to fit the center of the loading area to accommodate the bike.  The total weight of your bike should not exceed 1,000 lbs.  The load limit on the trailer axle is 3,500 lbs.
