The concept of the site is that there are a great many independent truckers who are heading all over the country at any time. Many are either deadheading home with no cargo, or want to fill out a load on their trailer. The truckers register and agree to the UShip terms, as do those wanting to ship something.

Two ways to place a shipping order:

1. Place an open order on which the truckers bid. The prices can be all over the map. For example, we shipped a trailer to Connecticut. The bids were from $500 to $1600.  You are not obligated accept any bid at all.
   
2. Place an order at a fixed price. You set the price. If a trucker agrees, that makes the contract and you both instantly agree to standard terms and the contract is set.  This is the cheapest way to go, but you have to estimate the guesstimate. This is also our preferred method.

In either case, it is always a short notice situation. You pick the date after the trailer is ready to go, and the trucker picks up the load on or about that date, with delivery on or about the date you agree on. The delivery date needs to be somewhat flexible. Don't plan to get your trailer on a specific date like the day before a long-planned RV trip!

You can often save money if you are willing for your Smart Trailer USA to be towed vs. riding on an open trailer.  Yes, wear and tear jumps to mind, but it isn't that much and it can save quite a bit of money.

This all sounds a bit confusing, and it can be - but it works and offers the lowest prices. Because of the possible hassle, we can arrange shipping for you with a fee of $100 for doing so, or you can manage it yourself. Its your choice, of course.

Depending on orders, we normally have a Smart Trailer USA in stock, with only any customization like the spare tire or custom aluminum wheels being needed. Worst case production time should never exceed 10 days.  Shipping management, if desired, is $100 plus the actual shipping cost.  That cost will be billed separately and must be paid prior to shipping.
